Galaxy user policy

Install Docker Build Galaxy on your own computers 

  1. Our Docker Build Galaxy is freely available to all CURRENT USC faculty, students, and staff.
  2. Minimum hardware requirement: Intel i7 CPU, 8GB RAM, 300GB available hard disk.
  3. First-time user must submit the Galaxy Access Request form.
  4. To report bugs and errors, please complete the Galaxy Bug Report.
  5. To request the installation of additional tools, please complete the Galaxy Tool Request Form.

Access Galaxy on workstation computers in the libraries

  1. The Docker Build Galaxy has been installed on multiple workstation computers located at:
    • Norris Medical Library on HSC  
    • Wilson Dental Library on UPC
  2. All USC users can freely access the software on our workstation computers.
  3. First-time user must submit the Galaxy Access Request form.
  4. USC Libraries Bioinformatics Service is not responsible for the loss of any user files.  It is the sole responsibility of our users to keep copies of all their own files.

Access USC Galaxy Server

  1. The USC Galaxy Server is installed on a Dell PowerEdge R30 server (dual 12-core Intel Xeon processors, 512GB RAM), coupled with a 30TB NAS storage (RAID6).
  2. First-time users must submit a Galaxy Access Request form.
  3. Upon approval, users will be assigned with an initial disk quota, the size of which is dependent on the data analysis needs.  The disk quota is only for the purpose of data analysis, not for permanent storage of raw data and result files. 
  4. USC Libraries Bioinformatics Service is not responsible for the loss of any user files.  It is the sole responsibility of our users to keep copies of all their own files.
